Jongga Flavourverse

Covent Garden, London
2023
Senior Architectural Designer for Amplify

Project overview
Sitting at the cross section of exhibition, retail and experiential space, the Flavourverse consisted of three distinct spaces where visitors could learn about the historical culture around kimchi making, try dishes involving kimchi and engage with visually striking moments of fun.

As Senior Architectural Designer, I took the project from pitch to execution, navigating complex design, conceptual and logistical challenges across a ten month period.

More info below

Space 1: Kimchi Alley
An immersive environment crafted to evoke the vibrant essence of Seoul's urban landscape through detailed facades and realistic street elements, balancing authenticity and stylised immersion.

Space 2: Kimchi Lab
Blending the design aesthetic of a traditional Korean home with modern stylings, the space speaks to the heritage and innovation of the Jongga brand via ‘windows’ in the space that bring various exhibit items to life.

Space 3: Kimchi Mart
A totally immersive, stylised supermarket space designed to coherently house a vast array of Jongga products in carefully designed display units, cabinets, fridges and shelving.

Entry and exit points
Bookending the linear journey from oppposing sides of the same building block the entrance and exit moments have been designed to delinate the experience from its urban context through a monochormatic, brand focused treatment of bold red lighting and signage.
