Project overview
‘No Photos’ is a dreamlike journey through the nightclub Fold. An attempt at translating a hyper-sensory experience bursting with sound, texture, lights and emotions into a single visual snapshot. A compression of a thousand moments. There is an immense comfort in the dark through which light slices through with the power of joy, discovery, clarity, community.

You can’t take photos at Fold. A simple, yet immensely valuable policy that creates a sense of safety and freedom really rare these days. It also means an artwork like this is constructed from fragmented memories and hazy visions of what it feels like to be there.
The surrounding iconic architecture is present in the piece but there is more to it. There is a meandering, pulsating energy running through the place that I’m attempting to articulate.
